The Canadian Life Insurance Medical Officers’ Association (CLIMOA) is devoted to the development of doctors and other professionals working in the health and life insurance industry.

The CLIMOA Annual Scientific Meeting offers medical education with a focus on speakers, topics, and approaches relevant to the specialized world of insurance medicine. It also offers a dinner and social evening as well as other great opportunities to network with like-minded individuals in a specialty whose few members are scattered widely in different cities and countries. Throughout the event, opportunities abound to fine-tune one's skills and knowledge of insurance medicine and its specific requirements. Attendees will receive a certificate of attendance after the meeting.

Situated downtown at the bustling intersection of Bay Street and Richmond Street in Toronto’s Central Business District, the meeting location provides easy access to a variety of area amenities and is directly connected to Toronto's underground PATH network, where you can explore over 1,000 restaurants, shops, and services, including the iconic Toronto Eaton Centre.

TRAVEL

Air: The meeting venue is located downtown approximately 3 kilometres from Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ). It is approximately 35 kilometres from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), where the Union Pearson Express runs to Toronto Union Station downtown in 25 minutes (adult one-way fare from Pearson to Union is $12.35, subject to change).

Transit: The meeting venue is located conveniently located 800 metres from Toronto Union Station train station (UP Express, TTC, GO Transit, and VIA Rail Canada), and steps from the 501 and 504 streetcars and the Queen Subway Station (TTC).

Driving: Several highways link surrounding cities to Toronto, including Highways 2, 401, 407, and the Queen Elizabeth Way. The nearest Canada-U.S. border crossings are at Niagara Falls, Fort Erie, and Windsor.

CLIMOA has secured a limited number of hotel rooms for our group at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, located less than a 10-minute walk from the meeting venue.

Our special group rate is $397 for a Traditional Room (per room, per night, single or double occupancy, plus applicable taxes and fees). High speed wireless internet is included in our guest room rate. Our group rate will be available until Thursday, April 16, 2026, or until our group block is sold out, whichever comes first. After that point, any new reservation will be subject to availability at the daily rate applicable at the time of reservation.

Individuals are responsible for their own hotel reservations and their own room, taxes, and incidental charges. All charges must be paid upon checkout. A credit card must be provided when reserving a room. Reservations may be cancelled up to 72 hours prior to arrival with no penalty; otherwise, a charge for one night will apply.

Check-in time is 15:00, and the check-out time is 11:00.

Refunds of registration fees, less a $50 administration fee, will be issued for cancellations received by Friday, March 6, 2026. No refunds will be issued after this date. If you are unable to attend, you may substitute someone in your place. Refunds will be processed after the meeting.
